Is the USA uncivilized or something?

It's sad but true! Not all states have a death penalty, but most do. In peoples eyes, it's a way for justice to be served for someone who does something terribly bad. For example, if someone murdered your cousin and had no remorse for it, I guess the death penalty is one of the few things that can bring your family closure. I personally don't believe in it as I feel that there are so many deaths in this world, one more isn't going to make a difference, however I hope that it will deter people from doing horrible acts of violence. In most other ways, I think the US is civilized, but this is just one of the dark sides for those who deserve it.
