Is sexual selection in North American society being manipulated by mediatic tools or by popular choice?

We all started to realize to it: Adds, movies, famous couples... Black men on White blonde women, blonde men picking up the best looking partners of all colors. The pervasiveness of the stereotypes of "beauty" has come to represent a discriminating barrier to non Black ethnic males, Black women, and other groups (such as Natives) never heralded as icons of beauty by the mainstream society. Is this really a shallow issue bothering flat mentalities, or a more serious problem reflecting primitive, genocidal selective trends in modern, so called "egalitarian", civilized society??
