Why is anorexia ridiculed so much?

I always see people talking how anorexic skinny Is disgusting, how guys don't want anorexic skinny girls, in the tabloids how they always say these celebs have ana even when they don't. It really bothers me, being a recovered anorexic. It's a mental disease, not a choice, but people still seem to think this. People don't make fun of cancer patients and other illnesses, why make fun of anorexia?
